Policy On Politics

kidmercury | 14 January, 2007 15:53

From time to time, I will make posts related to government and politics. I do this for a number of reasons:

  • I am a sincere blogger attempting to create a blog that is of service and use to its readers (target market = web 2.0 entrepreneurs and bloggers). I try to post stuff that I think will be of use to entrepreneurs and bloggers. I think government and political news is important.
  • Essential to the concept of a free society is that of a free and responsible media. As I have illustrated, this is currently lacking in many parts of the world. I'd like to fix that problem to the extent that I can.
  • I am not motivated by money. When I was working for The Man, I was fortunate to do fairly well and rise up the corporate ladder. Having had some pretty big financial struggles in my life, this was very much welcome: finally, I had money! What I found, though, was that it was vastly overrated. I went to a few nice restaurants and took one small vacation. Then I went back to being a cheapskate. I found that I actually enjoyed it more. I mention this because my motivation is not personal wealth, but influence. I want to shape the world. And so, this blog will be published according to such a value system.
  • I want you to know that you can trust me. The best way I can think of to earn trust is to prove my committment to my principles and my integrity.

My views are undeniably controversial; I consider most instances of major terrorism (9/11, 7/7) to be false flag, state-sponsored acts. Most people respond to such ideas with name calling: "tin foil hat," "conspiracy theory," "kook," and other insults lacking in intelligence, humor, and offensive potency.

Such insults are meaningless and don't even warrant a response. What I want to make as clear as possible, though, is that I don't post something unless I am absolutely confident it is true. If you ever think I am wrong, you should let me know; that is, after all, part of what the conversation is about. And if I am wrong, I want to know about it.

I'm just letting you know this so you have a better idea of where I'm coming from. This blog is definitely about thinking different, and I intentionally aim to post controversial stuff. You would be mistaken, though, if you think I will be willing to compromise the truth in the name of controversy. Not only are such strategies doomed to failure, they're just not a reflection of my principles.

As a citizen and resident of the United States I focus on issues related to the USA. If you live in another country, hopefully this won't bore you too much. I do however, plan on writing a bit about world government, and how that will impact entrepreneurs (and the rest of the people of the world :) ). I hope you'll stick around for that.

As always, thanks for reading and giving your attention to this blog. I hope you find it useful, enjoyable, and thought-provoking. To put it in the jargon of this blog and of the ActoNetwork, I hope you find it a useful tool in your quest to become the hero you are destined to be.
