The Money is in the Relationships

Tyler Cowen of Marginal Revolution asks: should all web pages be blogs?

The answer: yes. In an online world, where information is a commodity, content is a commodity, software is a commodity, and physical goods have razor thin margins (and falling), the only real asset is your portfolio of relationships. If your web page isn't geared towards building a relationship, you might as well not have one.

Of course, this is how it's always been; after all, as the adage goes, it's not what you know, but who you know.

I liked your post on Threadwatch the need for an "intermediary" a they can help with "relationships". Of course, you were talking about an intermediary for the Search Marketing Industry vs. a customer and a web site.

I think you'll find my two posts on my blog (both on 11/23/05) about my analogy of a "Realtor-Broker" needed for SEM interesting.
