Spherekidmercury | 05 November, 2005 08:54 I've been beta testing Sphere lately -- a new blog search engine that claims to have the answer to the blog search problem in which the current blog search engines do a rather poor job of not only delivering relevant results but of also filtering out spam. From what I've seen thus far, Sphere looks great. It shows me blogs that are half decent, and I concur that the quality of the results is significantly better than those of other blog search engines. Could this be disruptive? If so, who is it disrupting? I think it could be very disruptive, as it is a much needed service that will serve a well-targeted niche -- avid bloggers and blog readers -- by helping them save time on research and information gathering. This reminds me of another company that once did the same.... Just as Google changed the game to make web portals about search, Sphere could change the search game to make it about blog search. As previously noted, Google is uses an algorithm that is not conducive to blog search. This may make it hard for them to innovate along these lines, and thus may leave them vulnerable to disruption. commentsWhat is this blog?Hello, I call myself Kid Mercury.
